Frootogo grows quality apples on easy-to pick dwarf apple trees. Bert gained his knowledge in fruit production through his horticulture education in Holland as well as years of hand on experience, having grown up on an apple farm and working at various apple farms in his youth.

Planting and growing apples is no small endeavor. It all starts will trees bought from a tree nursery, that are planted are maintained until ready to be croppped - which takes about 4 years. Every year involves hard work and maintenance such as mowing, winter pruning, thinning, and summer suckering. See our photo gallery.
Frootogo is growing its trees in high density plantings. Previously the trees were supported with large posts, but as new trees are go in, they are trained to a system called 'Slender Spindle'. this system allows an even higher density planting per acre.
